Disney Cruise

Here are some pictures of the Castaway Club Gifts we have received over the years (Note: We just received some updated pictures from a recent Disney Alaska Cruise.  We’ve added these pictures to the end of the article):

This was the first version of a beach bag that we received.… Read the rest

Disney Cruise

We recently went on the Disney Dream for a 3-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral.  We stayed in room 7044, which is a Category 5C Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.  It is located on the forward (front) port (left)  side of the ship on Deck 7, just in front of the forward elevators.   The room was in a great location.  We only had to go up a few decks to get drinks and we were very close to the forward elevators.

Here are our pictures of the room!… Read the rest

During our recent 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Star Wars Day At Sea cruise on the Disney Fantasy, we decided to try Disney Cruise Line’s Onboard Airline Check-in.  This is a program that Disney Cruise Line has that allows you to receive your boarding pass and check your luggage for your return flight home while onboard the ship.

In order to participate in this program, you must purchase Disney Cruise Line ground transportation from the ship back to Orlando International Airport.  You must also sign up for the program.  I don’t know the deadline, but we signed up when we boarded the ship at the Port Terminal.  You must be flying from the Orlando Airport after 11:30 am on one of the following airlines: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Jet Blue Airways, or United Airlines.… Read the rest

Disney Cruise, Shopping, Travel

Disney cruises are one of our favorite ways to vacation.  One of the few issues we have experienced while on the ship (and travel in general) is how to keep all of our electronic devices charged up.  As a family of four, we have a multitude of cell phones, iPads, and Kindles that need a recharge.  We used to travel with a bag full of wall chargers and cables that went everywhere.  This was a real problem once we boarded the cruise ship, since there are a limited number of wall plugs available.… Read the rest

This would be the saddest day, debarkation day.  I’ve already described the debarkation procedure in a previous post.  It was time to head home.  We got up early and went down to get breakfast.  Since we had second seating, we had the late breakfast at 7:30 am.  We had already sent our bags on ahead with the Disney On Board Airline Check In, which means we wouldn’t see our bags again until we got back to Dulles Airport.… Read the rest

Last week, I published the cheapest per night cruises you could take on a Disney ship in a verandah stateroom.  Now, I want to look at inside staterooms.  These are likely to be the ten cheapest cruises per night you could take since inside staterooms tend to be the cheapest category of stateroom.  Here are the ten cheapest cruises (as of May 29th, 2017 when I collected the data) for two adults and two children in an inside room based upon a per night price.

Mount Rustmore
Mount Rustmore

Today was the last full day of our cruise and it included a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island.  We’ve stopped at Castaway Cay several times over the years on our cruises, with the exception of our Alaska Cruise.  When we checked in for the cruise 105 days ago, we looked for a private Cabana on the family beach.  Unfortunately, they were all booked.  We instead decided to try some new excursions on the island.

My oldest daughter and I decided to try out parasailing!  We had watched other people do it on our previous visit to Castaway Cay and it looked like fun.  We selected a really early time so we could do the excursions and then get on with the rest of our day.  We were directed to Marge’s Barges, which is on the left almost immediately after you get off the ship.  You check in at the booth and then head towards the waiting area.… Read the rest
