One of our favorite ways to get to Walt Disney World is Amtrak’s Auto Train.  The Auto Train runs between Lorton, VA (outside of Washington, DC and close to our home) and Sanford, FL (very close to Orlando).  The train accommodates passengers and their vehicles to make the trip up or down the I-95 corridor.   So, not only do you get to and from Disney World without having to drive, but your car goes along on the ride as well.  This allows you to load up luggage in your vehicle, keeping only what you need for the overnight trip with you.  One train runs in each direction (one northbound, one southbound) each day. read more

We’ve previously discussed some of the many benefits of the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card.  One of the best benefits to the card is the free night you receive when you pay the $49 annual fee for the card.  This night can be used at any IHG property, which includes the InterContinental, Hualuxe, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Even Hotels, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites brands of hotels.  As long as the property has an award night available, you can use your free night. read more

We’ve previously shared information about the IHG Hotel Family and its loyalty program.  The Hilton HHonors program is another hotel loyalty program we like to use.  The Hilton hotel family is composed of Hilton Hotel & Resorts, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Canopy, Curio Collection, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Home 2 Suites and Hilton Grand Vacations.  As opposed to the IHG Hotel Family, there are lots of luxury hotels within the Hilton hotel family. read more
