Tote for Silver Castaway Club Members

The Castaway Club is Disney Cruise Line’s loyalty program.  You are automatically enrolled in the program once you have taken one Disney cruise.  There are three different levels in the Club, each with a set of perks and bonuses.  Disney has recently made changes to the program, which I have detailed below in bold. read more

During a recent Disney Cruise, we participated in the Mixology class.  The class is a chance to try your hand at making (and tasting) five different mixed drinks.  The class costs $20 per person and the amount is charged to your room.  It is important to note that if you would like to do one of these classes, you should sign up when you board the ship on the first day.  We looked in the Navigator we picked up in the port terminal to find the signup location.  For our cruise on the Fantasy, that was in La Piazza.  We waited around a few hours before going to sign up and we managed to grab the last two spots for the Mixology class on the first sea day.  read more

Hello!  This is an article about the 12 year old perspective of the Edge.  The Edge is the Disney Cruise Line club for kids from 11 to 14.  Normally, around the time you turn 11, you just want to go to the Edge, and not hang around the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab as much.  This is a guide about how the Edge works, because it is slightly different from the Club and Lab. read more

We recently went on the Disney Fantasy for a Star Wars Day At Sea 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise.  We stayed in room 6146, which is a Category 5D Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.  It is located on the port (left) aft (back) side of the ship on Deck 6.   Here are our pictures of the room! read more

We just got back from a fantastic Star Wars at Sea cruise on the Disney Fantasy.  It will take me a while to organize the content, but in the meantime, I’ll share this video.  When you leave Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island), the Cast Members that stay on the island send the ship off by waving goodbye to all the guests.  Here is a video of the farewell that we captured from our veranda. read more

Disney Cruise Line Navigator
Disney Cruise Line Navigator

One of the Disney Cruise Line services that we really like is the DCL Navigator App (available for iOS and Android devices).  The app doesn’t have a lot of functionality when you first install it while at home, although it will provide you a countdown timer that is visible when you open it as well as placeholders for ship information such as deck plans and activities.  You will definitely want to download the app before you get on the ship.  I don’t know if there is free public wifi at the Port Canaveral terminal, so get it at home before you leave to be safe. read more

Spring Break 2016 Cruise – Part 8 – Disembarkation/WDW Mini Trip
Scheduled Fastpasses
Scheduled Fastpasses

Our original plan for the last two days of our spring break vacation was to get off the ship, grab a rental car, and head down to the Florida Keys before returning to Miami that night and staying at the InterContinental Miami.  That plan changed after we got Walt Disney World annual passes.  We saw that the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival was going on during our Spring Break.  We decided that if we could get off the ship early on Friday, we could head up to Orlando and spend two partial days in the parks before returning to Miami later Saturday night in time to catch our flight home. read more
