Planning | Travel | Animal Kingdom | Epcot | Magic Kingdom | Hollywood Studios | Summary
The last day of our quick four day trip brought us to Hollywood Studios. Since our return flight was leaving the Orlando airport at 2 PM, we needed to leave Hollywood Studios around 11:45 AM or so. I am really paranoid about being early to the airport (late is not an option), so I tend to leave lots of time for emergencies.
Nobody was too upset that Hollywood Studios would be our short park day, especially since most of the park is under construction. We have done everything in the park in previous visits, including the Star Wars Launch Bay. On top of that, we actually couldn’t get any FastPasses for Hollywood Studios for early in the day.
Given our time constraints, we split into two groups with one headed to Toy Story Midway Mania and the other headed to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The wait time at Midway Mania actually surprised us because it was so short. We had forgotten that they had added a third track, which definitely seem to speed things along.
Our youngest daughter had decided she was going to ride Tower of Terror. None of us had ever ridden it before. She has decided that she wanted to be the first one in our family to ride everything in all four parks (she is only missing Na’vi River Journey, which she will get to knock out in the next few weeks on an upcoming trip). She and Nancy went through the queue, taking lots of great pictures, before Nancy peeled off into the chicken exit. Our daughter said the ride was a lot of fun, so the rest of the family is going to give it a try on our next visit.
We saw these two billboards outside of the construction area near Midway Mania. We can’t wait for the new areas to open up. I am really hoping we get to see Toy Story Land on a trip next summer before our annual passes expire (but I’m not holding my breath).
After we did our first two rides, we made sure to get a ride in on Star Tours! While walking over there, we saw the advertisement for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad. This was the day after The Great Movie ride closed for good.
After Star Tours, I pulled up the My Disney Experience App and started looking for FastPasses. We actually found two for Rock n’ Roller Coaster and two for Midway Mania. Nancy and our youngest daughter headed to Midway Mania while our oldest daughter and I headed to Rock n’ Roller Coaster!
After using our two FastPasses, we were pretty much out of time. A quick trip through the shops, along with watching the March of the First Order, ended our day.
We left the park and headed towards the airport!
