Making FastPass+ reservations can be an exciting part of your next Walt Disney World vacation. If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can make these reservations 60 days in advance of your trip. If you have an annual pass or a ticket you purchased outside of a Disney World package, you can make your FastPass reservations 30 days from your visit. When Disney says 60 days, they aren’t kidding. You can make these selections starting at midnight if you can stay up that late! Disney has two methods you can use to make your selections, either through their mobile app or their website. We will describe how to use the My Disney Experience website to make FastPass+ reservations.
Since we have annual passes, let’s make a surprise visit to the Magic Kingdom. We will start by logging into the My Disney Experience Website.
Once you get to the website, you will want to use the sign in prompt at the top of the page to enter in your login information. If you haven’t used My Disney Experience or the Disney website before, you will need to create an account.
After you login, you should be able to start making reservations if you have entered in your ticket information and you are within the time frame (60 days for Walt Disney Resort Reservations, 30 days otherwise). Select the Get Started button to begin.
Once you have selected Get Started, you should get a listing of all your current reservations. This will include hotel reservations, dining reservations, and FastPass+ selections. To make Fast Pass+ selections, look for the Enjoy FastPass+ area and click the Make Selections button.
You will be brought to the FastPass+ Service screen. From this screen, you can make new FastPass+ selections, update previous selections, or cancel existing selections. We are going to make new selections, so select the New FastPass+ button.
You will now get to select the people in the FastPass+ selection party (who will use the FastPass+ selections). Once you have selected them, select the Next button at the bottom.
After selecting the FastPass+ participants, you now can select the park and the day of your visit. Once you select the park and the date, you will be shown the hours of operations of the parks and the date you selected will be checked. Select Next at the bottom once you are done.
You will now be shown all the available attractions at that park for your selected day. As you can see, the Festival of Fantasy Parade attraction has already had its FastPass+ reservations taken for that particular day. It’s ok, we probably weren’t going to select that anyway. We will go ahead and take the top three that are listed there. Pick the ones you want and select the Next button at the bottom.
You will now be taken to the time selection screen with four possible time selections. Pick whichever one works for you. You can view alternate time selections by clicking on the Tab labeled Option 1, Option 2, etc. Once you have found an option that works well for you, select Next at the bottom. Don’t worry if the times provided aren’t perfect, you can make modifications to individual ride times if needed. We will step through it in a bit.
Congratulations, you’ve now selected three FastPass+ attractions for one day. They should show up in your reservations page and also on your My Disney Experience Mobile App.
So, you’ve gotten your three FastPass+ attractions, but the time doesn’t work for you on one of them? You can modify the time or even one of the attractions. Let’s step through that process. Instead of selecting New FastPass+ from the FastPass+ service page, instead select Update FastPass+.
You’ll be prompted to select which date you would like to change. Go ahead and use the pull down menu to pick the date and select Continue.
Once you have selected the date, you’ll be taken to the list of attractions you have for the date. Don’t like the time you got for Big Thunder? Let’s change that time to a better time, maybe later in the afternoon to give your lunch a little time to settle. Select the highlighted “Select New Time” link that is listed below the arrival time for the FastPass+ time.
Select New Time will bring up a pull down that gives you a list of available times. Pick the one that works best for you.
Once you’ve picked the new time, select the Update button to lock that selection in. Congratulations, you’ve locked in that new time!
If you would instead prefer to change one of the selections to a different attraction, you can do that from the same web page. Instead of choosing Select New Time, select Change Experience under the name of the attraction you want to change.
You will then be given a list of alternative options to choose from. Dumbo is looking mighty tempting!
Once you select the new attraction, you will be given a list of times (just like previously). Select the time that works best for you and then select Update! You’ll be up on the flying elephants in no time!
Once you have your FastPass+ attractions just as you want them, you can select Close at the bottom to finish out your selections.
The last thing you might want to do is to cancel a FastPass+ selection. We will go through this process to release all the FastPass+ selections we just made (note: no actual FastPass+ selections were harmed during this blog post). From the FastPass+ Service page, select the last option, Cancel FastPass+.
Select the date of the FastPass+ selections you would like to cancel and press Continue.
Select the reservation you’d like to cancel. If you want to cancel the same one for everyone, you will have to go through each party member to do so. The green check box at the top will select everything. Be careful with what you are doing, you might not be able to get your coveted Frozen Meet and Greet back if you release it. Press Next at the bottom once you are done.
You will now see a list of all the FastPass+ selections you want to cancel. If you are sure, press Done at the bottom. All your FastPass+ selections will be released back into the available queue. You might just make someone very happy!
Using the My Disney Experience website to make and manage your FastPass+ selections is very easy. You can make your selections, change the times or the attractions, and cancel them quickly! If only standing in lines at Disney were this easy!
