So, you’ve booked your Disney Cruise — now it’s approaching your check in day and you wonder what will happen?  The most important thing you need to know before booking your excursions, adult dining, character meets, and other activities is that you must be paid in full on your cruise.  Once you have paid in full for your cruise, you can book your activities.  The date for this depends on how many Disney Cruises you have taken.  If this is your first cruise, your check in day will be 75 days from your sailing date.  If you have taken 1-4 cruises (this makes you a Silver Castaway Club member), your date will be 90 days out.  If you have taken 5-9 cruises (this makes you a Gold Castaway Club member), your date will be 105 days out.  If you have taken 10 or more (a Platinum Castaway Club member), your date will be 120 days out.  On the other hand, if you are sailing in a Concierge stateroom, you can book 125 days out regardless of your prior number of cruises.  You should be contacted by the shore side Concierge team who will book your activities for you (I believe you can email them 125 days out, so you should get everything you want). read more

We recently went on the Disney Magic for a 5-Night Caribbean Very Merrytime Christmas Cruise from Miami.  We stayed in stateroom 2512, which is a Category 9C Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom.  It is located on the forward (front) starboard (right)  side of the ship on Deck 2, in front of the forward elevators.   We had never stayed forward on Deck 2 before, but we really liked it.  The forward elevators are very rarely busy and it was easy to get to almost everything. read more

American Airlines Flight from Reagan National to Orlando

The travel day for our Disney Dream cruise finally arrived!  We had decided to leave really early so that we could join our friends at the airport.  We could easily kill time in the Admirals Club lounge at Reagan National Airport.  We were going to get the girls from school around noon, then leave for the airport at 12:30, which should get us there at 1:00 pm.  The flight didn’t leave until 3:00 pm, so we should have plenty of time to get lunch as well.  read more

We recently went on the Disney Dream for a 3-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral.  We stayed in room 7044, which is a Category 5C Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.  It is located on the forward (front) port (left)  side of the ship on Deck 7, just in front of the forward elevators.   The room was in a great location.  We only had to go up a few decks to get drinks and we were very close to the forward elevators.  read more

Disney cruises are one of our favorite ways to vacation.  One of the few issues we have experienced while on the ship (and travel in general) is how to keep all of our electronic devices charged up.  As a family of four, we have a multitude of cell phones, iPads, and Kindles that need a recharge.  We used to travel with a bag full of wall chargers and cables that went everywhere.  This was a real problem once we boarded the cruise ship, since there are a limited number of wall plugs available. read more
