Disney Cruise

Our friends Doug (from Rope Drop Radio) and Michelle McKnight (our favorite travel agent) went on the Disney Wish on July 23, 2022 for a 3-Night Bahamian cruise leaving from Port Canaveral.  They were kind enough to share pictures that they took of the Senses Fitness Center on board!

More about Doug and Michelle…

You can subscribe to Rope Drop Radio via iTunes.  Derek and Doug are two dads who love Disney.  Their goal is help you navigate all things Disney from the parks to the cruise. They want to share tips and tricks, travel plans, and must see’s to help you have an amazing Disney trip!  Make sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter as well!

We have really enjoyed having Michelle (affiliated with Touring Plans Travel Agency) as our travel agent.  It costs nothing to use her services because Disney pays her after we cruise.  She was the one that got up at the crack of dawn to book reservations on our booking dates, to make requested updates to our room and dining preferences.  We book our cruises with her, as well as recommending her to our friends!  Contact her to see if she can help you with your vacation plans. (Note: Michelle does not sponsor Back To The Mouse, we are just satisfied customers).

Royal Caribbean

Vitality Fitness Center
Vitality Fitness Center

During a recent Alaska sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas, we got a chance to visit the fitness center.  It is located forward on Deck 16.

One side of the fitness center is filled with treadmills.  They all face the water so you get some nice scenery to look at while you get your steps in.

The other side is lined with ellipticals.

The front of the gym is an exercise floor that was clear when we came in.  As you can see in the picture above, there are mats and small free weights stacked for use in classes.  Immediately behind the clear area is a raised area that has several stair climber machines and some bike machines.

Behind the bike machines, is another slightly raised area that has all the circuit weight machines and free weights.

On the side of the weight area, there are more elliptical machines.

There are also some rowing machines available as well.

A room in the back is set up for spin classes.  I don’t recall seeing a schedule for the spin classes or if they were an additional cost.

During a recent Spring Break cruise on the Disney Wonder, we went to check out the fitness center.  The fitness center is located on Deck 9 all the way forward.  You have to go through the Senses Spa to get to it.  Use of the fitness center is included in the cost of your cruise.  You can also use the showers and locker room as well if you need more space to get ready than is available in your stateroom.  Note, you must be 18 years or older to use the fitness center.

There are a lot of treadmills in the fitness center and they all face out towards the front of the ship.

The treadmills extend all the way to the other side.  Behind them are some circuit training machines.  There are also plenty of free weights as well as benches for weight training.  The star of the show is clearly the view while walking/running on the treadmill.

During a recent summer cruise on the Disney Fantasy, we went to check out the fitness center.  The fitness center is located on Deck 11 all the way forward.  You have to go through the Senses Spa to get to it.  Use of the fitness center is included in the cost of your cruise.  You can also use the showers and locker room as well if you need more space to get ready than is available in your stateroom.  Note that you must be 18 years or older to use the fitness center.

There are several weight machines in the back of the room.

The second and first rows are filled elliptical and treadmill machines that face out towards the ocean.  I found myself getting disoriented a few times while walking on the treadmill if I stared at a point on the water and the ship was moving sideways while I was walking forward.  I just had to avoid fixating on a point on the water and I was fine.

There are also a large amount of free weights and other equipment that can be used for your workouts as well.
