We’ve previously discussed some of the many benefits of the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card. One of the best benefits to the card is the free night you receive when you pay the $49 annual fee for the card. This night can be used at any IHG property, which includes the InterContinental, Hualuxe, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Even Hotels, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites brands of hotels. As long as the property has an award night available, you can use your free night.
In order to use the free night, you will need to log into your IHG account.
Once you log in, you should be able to view the details of your account by selecting your account information.
The free night status is on the left. If you select it, you will see how many free nights you have available along with the valid booking dates for the free night(s):
If you select Book Free Night, you will get taken to a search screen where you can look for the hotel you want.
Enter in the parameters for the room you would like to book. Under Rate Preference, make sure you select Chase Anniversary Free Night. Once you have the parameters entered, select Find A Hotel. You will then get taken to the Search Results screen which will display a list of rooms that meet your criteria.
You can alter some of the search criteria on this page as well, for except to narrow the search radius of the location. If the room has award nights available (which isn’t always a guarantee), you can book the room you want by selecting Check Rates. You will then get presented with the room selection screen where you might get a choice of various room types.
The price of the room will then be shown, but the it will be crossed out and replaced with our favorite word “FREE”. Select Book This Room to lock in your reservation.
You will then be presented with your reservation. You can easily go back into the reservation and cancel the reservation and your free night will appear back in your online account to be used again. Just remember the last day to book (and use) you room will be listed in your account.
It is that simple to book your room. Just a reminder that the room isn’t really free, but will have costs you the annual fee ($49) of the credit card. $49 isn’t too much to pay for a $300 hotel room though.
