During a recent sailing on the Disney Wonder, we got to see the new French Quarter Lounge located on Deck 3, the former location of the Promenade Lounge. The French Quarter Lounge is located right outside of Tiana’s Place, one of the themed dining rooms. This area was completely redone during a recent dry dock upgrade to better match the theme of Tiana’s Place.
The general structure of the lounge didn’t change very much. The center of the lounge consists of a stage (which often has musical acts).
The left portion of the lounge is taken up by a bar. The bar has a few beers on draft, including some Abita brews – which are also featured in Tiana’s Place.
Immediately to the left of the bar is a small hallway that leads to a crew area. Disney made sure to theme this area as well.
The right side of the lounge definitely received an upgrade. There is a built in monitor (I believe for various games that can take place in the Lounge). There are also new tables and chairs to fit the overall theme.
The best upgrade is at the far right of the lounge, which used to be where the internet help desk was located. It has been replaced with a street trolley!
The streetcar has several booths as well as additional seating.
There is a plaque inside as well to explain the purpose of the streetcar.
The lounge has a great new vibe, especially when combined with the experience of Tiana’s Place. It was a lot of fun to hang out in the lounge before our second seating dinner, then head straight into the fun atmosphere of Tiana’s.
The French Quarter has its own menu as well, which includes drinks and snacks!
We ordered the Beignets while we were here. They are the same ones that are served in Tiana’s Place during the Mardi Gras night menu. The French Quarter also features drink coasters that are unique to this lounge.
While we were enjoying drinks here, the bartender also brought us some snacks to enjoy with our drinks – roasted fava beans, pretzel chips, and a savory snack mix. Nancy really liked the fava beans.
Next time you find yourself on the Disney Wonder, make sure you take some time to enjoy the French Quarter Lounge!
