Our first stop once boarding the ship was Deck 11 to wait for the AquaDuck. The AquaDuck is the water roller coaster that is on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. The girls had worn bathing suits under their clothes so they could get some rides on the AquaDuck before the ship got crowded. We grabbed some chairs near the entrance and the girls headed off. Nancy went off to take some pictures and I got something to drink. After a few rides on the AquaDuck, we took turns getting some food from Cabanas. Our youngest daughter decided to head to the Sweet on You Shop to see if they had milkshakes. She came back with this:
After eating lunch, we headed to the room to drop our day bags off since it was around 1:45 PM (the rooms are supposed to be accessible at 1:30 PM). Once we got to the elevator lobby on Deck 7, the ropes were still up and there was an updated time that said the room wouldn’t be ready till 2:00 PM. We decided to hang out for a bit until they were ready. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones with that idea as the elevator lobby started to get crowded. They finally let everyone access the rooms and we headed to our stateroom. We’ve previously talked about our stateroom so I won’t go over it again, but it was in a great location.
Nancy decided to wait in the room for the luggage to show up while the rest of us went off to explore the ship. We started on the top deck and worked our way down. Our first stop was Goofy’s Sports Deck. Goofy’s Sport Deck hosts pick-up basketball games as well as dodge ball.
The next area we looked into was the AquaLab. The AquaLab is located behind the rear funnel and is a spray/play water area.
Luckily, the girls had already been on the AquaDuck because when we came to check it out again, the water wasn’t running. We must have gone through this area near muster drill time, because all the water areas were closed off.
There is a water slide also located in the main pool area.
The Mickey Pool was closed as well (you can see the net over the top of it). The Mickey Pool is a shallow pool for younger cruisers.
The main pool is a deeper pool but not much bigger. Enjoy this empty view of it, because that is the only time you will see it that way.
While walking around on the top deck, we stumbled into the “Family Zone”. I don’t remember this from our previous two cruises on the Disney Fantasy. This area is in front of the forward funnel. There are lots of chairs (some in the shade) along with a small wading pool.
After checking out the Family Zone, we decided to take a quick walk through the adult area. This area is on Deck 10, in front of the forward funnel. This section of the adult area has a main pool, a hot tub and the bar. The Cove Cafe is also located here.
After a quick trip through the adult section, we went back down through Deck 10, which is the pool deck. After exiting the adult section, the first area you run into is a bar called Frozone Treats.
The next area has the soft serve ice cream machines, which are always busy. The cruise started out with Vanilla and Chocolate, but they added different flavors as the week went on.
There are drink stations on both sides of the pool deck. One side of each drink station has sodas, the other has coffee, tea, and milk. All of the drinks here are included in the price of your cruise.
At the back of the pool deck, right before heading to Cabanas (the buffet), is Nemo’s Reef. This is a splash pad area for younger cruisers.
After exploring the pool decks, we headed to the Atrium to look around.

We also saw the Bibbidi Bobbiti Boutique. Your children can get princess or pirate makeovers here for an additional charge. Our girls were too old for this by the time we started cruising, but we have seen lots of children get a makeover experience here. It was closed when we passed by.
It was getting late in the day, so we head back to the room to pick up Nancy. Our bags had arrived and she had put everything away in the room. We then headed to the muster drill. Our station was outside on Deck 4, but luckily it was in the shade. The muster drill was over quickly, and soon we were headed away from Port Canaveral. We went up to the top deck to get a great view of sail away.
Eventually, we made our way to the front of the ship to get the best view.
After sail away, the girls headed off. Nancy and I went to drop off a placeholder form at the Future Cruise desk. We always do this to get 10% off our next Disney Cruise.
Dinner tonight was at Animator’s Palate. We headed there for our late seating dinner (8:15 pm). We switched to late seating a few cruises ago and everyone liked it much better. We met our service team, which consisted of Yousef, the server and Ray, the assistant server. The service during the week was a mixed bag. Yousef was outstanding though and had everything going well. We also ran into our assistant server, Hazel, from our Star Wars cruise and she remembered us.
Tonight was the Crush show in Animator’s Palate. We weren’t at the best table to enjoy this show, but have seen it a few times before.
After dinner, the girls ran off to the clubs to catch the Ice Breakers for their clubs. Nancy and I decided to go check out the shops to see what they had in stock. We didn’t find anything we needed, so we decided to head to bed.
It had been a long day since we woke up at the Hyatt in Orlando, so we were tired. We did find this snail waiting for us back in the room! Tomorrow would be our first Sea Day!
