April 14, 2019 5-Night Baja Cruise, Part 5: Sea Day

Day 2
Day 2

After our prior day of getting up early to board the ship, we had very few plans for our first sea day.  We took the opportunity to sleep in late.  Nancy and I planned to enjoy Palo Brunch, so we decided to skip breakfast.  The girls got dressed and headed off to enjoy the ship while Nancy and I got ready and headed up to Palo.  We’ve talked about Palo many times, including how to book your reservation.  It goes without saying that we had a fantastic lunch.

After stuffing ourselves at Palo, we checked in on the girls.  They wanted to head to the main pool to watch funnel vision.  I went back to the room to change to join them.

We sat with the girls on the pool for quite some time.  The problem was the temperature was so nice, maybe on the cool side.  I neglected to put on sun screen because of the nice weather.  I discovered later in the evening that was a huge mistake.  I definitely got a nice sun burn.  Luckily, at the time, ignorance was bliss.  We all watched a few movies on the Funnel Vision and had a great time.  After we got a few movies in, we decided to go back to the room.  We were all a bit tired, so we decided to sit on our balcony and get in some nap time.  As I said earlier, our balcony was fantastic.

After a couple of hours at the pool, while the rest of us were burning ourselves and being lazy, Nancy took the opportunity to hit the gym to exercise.

While we were enjoying the balcony, our Platinum return gift was delivered to our cabin.   Last time, we had selected the box of chocolates.  This time, we decided to try a fruit tray.  In hindsight, I don’t know that more food was what we really needed on this trip.  Either way, it looked nice but I don’t know if we ate any of it.

Since we really only had one bathroom, I decided to get ready early for dinner to free it up for the ladies.  Once I was done I headed down to guest services in the atrium while the ladies got ready for dinner.  I wanted to add a gift card to our on board account.  I took the opportunity to get a picture of Ariel while the atrium was less busy and I stopped at guest services.

After getting a few pictures, I headed off to the Promenade Lounge to read until dinner time.  Once the ladies were ready, we all went together to enjoy dinner in Triton’s.  Dinner tonight was with the traditional Triton’s menu.

In addition to our dinner, we received another awesome dessert from the pastry chef.  We headed back to the room ready to sleep the night away.  The girls captured this beautiful photo before we settled in.

Waiting in the room for us was this awesome elephant!
